Jury Convicts West Virginia Magistrate Charged with Racketeering

"A county magistrate was convicted Monday of extorting money from defendants by pocketing their bond. Danny R. Wells was found guilty of racketeering for squeezing amounts ranging from $100 to $300 from three defendants. The Logan County magistrate had also been accused of extorting sex, but the jury cleared him of two of those charges and the judge dropped another charge," the AP is reporting via NJ.com.
