Increase In War Funding Sought
The Bush administration intends to seek about $70 billion in emergency funding for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan early next year, pushing total war costs close to $225 billion since the invasion of Iraq early last year, Pentagon and congressional officials said yesterday.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it. That's $70 billion more of your money, ensuring Haliburton's "retirement". How's yours? See you November 2nd. Details here from the AP.

Come on. Does this kind of thing really surprise folks anymore? This guy is literally getting away with murder, and for some reason, a good part of the country seems to like it. I'm trying to understand, but I just don't get it.
The job market where I am is pitiful. Benefits are slim to non-existent. My salary has dropped to what it was in 1991, with expenses, like gas, going through the roof. Retirement? What retirement?
