Movable Type (MT) Technical Support
Despite the fact that I have a degree in computer science from an Ivy League school, I occassionally get the blood and guts that underlie this weblog so messed up that I am unable to fix it myself.
A few years ago, I managed to accomplish the above. A random guy contacted me through the Movable Type Support Forum. Long story short: I gave him my passwords and stuff, and he went to extraordinary lengths to undo the damage I had done. He didn't ask for anything, but I PayPal'd him $100 for his Herculian efforts.
Yesterday, I trashed this website again by trying to upgrade it from MT version 3.2 to MT version 3.34. Finding myself shut out from editing my own website, I contacted the "random guy" again. Once more, he went above and beyond to fix my problem. Again, he didn't ask for anything, but I PayPal'd him another $100 for his troubles.
