Snakes to Appear Before District Judge

SHAMOKIN [PA] — A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Dec. 12 for a woman who allegedly threatened police officers with poisonous snakes.

Terry L. Jackson, 36, was bitten by the snakes during the incident at 4:15 a.m. Oct. 25 and spent about three weeks at Geisinger Medical Center.

She has now been ordered to appear before District Judge John Gembic for a hearing on charges of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.

According to court documents, Shamokin police responded to Ms. Jackson’s home on a report of a woman holding a knife. They found Ms. Jackson holding a 10-inch hunting knife in a threatening manner, police said.

As officers tried to talk to her about putting down the knife, she allegedly picked up several snaakes and waved them at the officers. She was bitten on the arm and face before officers were able to subdue her with a stun device.

Police are keeping the snakes, two western diamondback rattlesnakes, a pigmy rattlesnake and two copperheads, as evidence in the case.

I wonder what the snakes have been charged with? Consorting with an idiot? Details here from The Daily Item.com.
