Jailed Ind. Lawyer Accused of Drug Deals

An attorney already jailed on insurance fraud charges has been accused of helping her employees sell methamphetamine out of her law office.

Karon Perkins, 44, was charged Friday with conspiracy and aiding in the distribution of methamphetamine and held in lieu of a $500,000 bond. She had been jailed since March 2 on insurance fraud charges.

Prior to her arrest, she served as a public defender in Indianapolis in addition to her private practice, the AP says here.
