Scott Peterson’s attorney has apologized for calling the San Mateo District Attorney a “piece of crap.”
Mark Geragos made the comment after a second potential juror admitted to making false statements in the jury selection process. The 33-year-old twice-divorced woman said that she had lied about restraining orders she had taken out, and she was also questioned about an Internet chat where she talked about jury selection in the Peterson case.
Geragos’s comment referred to a statement that DA Jim Fox made earlier in the week, where Fox said he never prosecuted a juror for perjury in his 21 years on the job. The judge in the Peterson case admonished Geragos for the off-color comment, and Geragos apologized.
