Philadelphia-based Duane Morris is set to acquire Hancock Rothert & Bunshoft, a 75-lawyer San Francisco firm best known for its insurance coverage practice.
According to partners at Duane Morris, a vote at that firm was scheduled to take place Thursday, with an official announcement expected soon afterward.
“There is a lot of work involved,” one Duane Morris lawyer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said. “Duane Morris has never acquired a full firm, ever. This is the first one in 100 years.”
