14-Pound Pearl at Center of Wrongful-Death Lawsuit

— January 9, 2005

I first saw this story yesterday and decided not to post about it because it is so bizarre and complex that I couldn’t figure out how to characterize it. But it keeps haunting me:

Colorado Springs – A 14-pound pearl believed to be the largest in the world is at the center of a wrongful-death lawsuit over the contract killing of a woman in 1975.

You’ll just have to read it for yourselves. Details here from the AP via the Denver Post.
