Yesterday, San Francisco’s legal paper The Recorder published the following on page 3:
Correction
Due to a reporting error, an April 20 obituary about retired Third Discrict Court of Appeal Justice George Paras inaccurately quoted from a controversial letter Paras had once written about a colleague [and later a California Supreme Court justice], Cruz Reynoso. The Recorder incorrectly quoted Paras has having described Reynoso as a “professional little Mexican.” Paras did not use the word “little.” We regret the error.
I’m not sure that the use of the word “little” was what made the letter “controversial.”
