Alameda County Judge Appointed To State Court Of Appeal

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger announced today he’s appointing Alameda County Superior Court Judge James A. Richman to be a justice in the First District Court of Appeal, Division Two.

Richman, 64, of Oakland, has served as a judge on the Alameda County Superior Court since 1996.

He was previously an attorney practicing civil litigation for the law firm Cooley, Godward from 1967 to 1996. . . .

[H]e fills the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Ignazio Ruvolo to presiding justice of the First District Court of Appeal, Division Four.

Richman is a Republican.
