Chocolate and the Chip is recalling certain bakery products because they may contain undeclared allergens.
If you’re a fan of cookies, rice crispy treats, and Bundt cakes, this latest recall is for you. According to Los Angeles-based Chocolate and the Chip, it is recalling certain products over concerns they may contain undeclared wheat, milk, soy, and tree nuts. This is serious because there are many people who may be allergic or have severe sensitivities to these allergens. If ingested, it could result in serious or even life-threatening allergic reactions.
The affected products were shipped to the following states: CA, MA, TX, ID, NY, AL, AZ, AR, WA, UT, NJ, FL, OH, CO, GA, ID, MI, NV, NC, PA, VA, OR. The products might also be in other states via e-commerce shops, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The notice states the recalled cookies were “packaged in uniform pairs in a clear resealable plastic package labeled with logo and ingredient information.” The Bundt cakes were “packaged in a unit of four in a white bakery box and labeled with logo and ingredient information” and the rice crispy treats were “packaged in single units in a food-grade poly tubing labeled with logo and ingredient information.” A list of the recalled products is below:
