Caityln Jenner settled suit over fatal car crash. The two plaintiffs, adult stepchildren of victim Kimberly Howe, reportedly filed dismissals of their wrongful death suit against the former Olympian.
The incident occurred on the Pacific Coast Highway in February 2015. Jenner’s Cadillac Escalade rear-ended Howe’s Lexus propelling it into oncoming traffic. Howe’s vehicle was hit head-on by a Hummer and she died on the scene. Jenner settled a suit with another driver in the crash in late 2015, but still faces a suit brought by the driver of the Hummer.
It was confirmed in September by the Los Angeles DA that Jenner wouldn’t be charge with vehicular manslaughter. No other charges were brought. Insider sources told E! News that Caitlyn was “very relieved” by the DA’s decision. The source went on to say that, “There’s still a cloud hanging over Caitlyn’s head about the accident. She believes she did nothing wrong, but feels terrible about the whole thing.”
In a statement issued the day after the crash Jenner said, “My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident. It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible.”
Authorities determined that Jenner was not texting or intoxicated, but merely “inattentive.”
