Parker Squared Recalls 3,000 Plush Toys Over Laceration Hazard

— March 27, 2021

Parker Squared, a Dallas-based company, is recalling thousands of plush toys that might pose a laceration hazard.

With Easter approaching, many parents may be on the lookout for toys and other goodies for their children’s Easter baskets. There are certain toys that should be avoided, though. According to a recent announcement by Parker Squared, about 3,000 Shepherd Boy plush toys with wire staffs are being recalled because the staff “can be exposed, posing a laceration hazard.

The toys were sold throughout the U.S. and Canada. So far, the company has received 12 reports of the staff fabric “unwrapping and exposing the metal wire with one report of a sharp edge.” Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

The recalled plush toys measure 12 inches tall. The staff is wrapped in fabric and the shepherd is “clothed in white with a red vest, a green sash and has sandals, a sewn-on face, and orange yarn hair.” The toys were manufactured in China and sold online at TheShepherdsTreasure.com and on Amazon.com between November 2020 and January 2021 for about $16.

For now, consumers who have the affected toys should either throw them away or contact The Shepherd’s Treasure for a refund. If you have additional questions or concerns about the recall, contact the company toll-free at (844) 310-2229 or email at recall@theshepherdstreasure.com.
