Hon. Raisa Cohen’s journey in law is rooted in her own experience immigrating to the U.S. from Uzbekistan as a refugee. Today, she leverages that personal history alongside ten years of experience as an Immigration Judge at New York’s Federal Plaza. Now in private practice in Queens, Raisa specializes in humanitarian cases and removal defense, earning a reputation for fairness and ethical practice. Beyond the courtroom, she is a dedicated mentor and lecturer within the New York legal community. Raisa is a graduate of Baruch College and St. John’s University School of Law and enjoys life in New York with her husband and their three children.
