The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court in New York; simultaneously, the PTPA also submitted complaints to the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium, and the Competition Markets Authority in London in the United Kingdom.
One of the articles was removed because it contained a single sentence stating that “endometriosis can occur in trans- and non-gender confirming people.”
Eckhart told the court that she had been fired for speaking out against abuse; however, Fox provided extensive documentation showing that she had been terminated for poor performance.
Under the Trump administration, the Department of Justice appears to have recalibrated its priorities, saying that the federal government appreciates Alabama’s effort to maintain fraud-free voter rolls.
“I have been informed that you have declined to join the lawsuit for two reasons. First, because STRS’s estimated losses of $5MM are too small and not worth pursuing, and, second, because you either agree with Target’s stated DEI, ESG and LGBTQ+ initiatives and/or do not believe that such initiatives should be actionable,” Yost said.
“I know want you to know that I’ve been practicing or serving in this court for over 50 years,” U.S. District Judge William Alsup said. “And I know how we get at the truth, and you’re not helping me get to add to the truth. You’re giving me press releases—sham documents.”
“This outrageous effort to leave students behind and deprive them of a quality education is reckless and illegal,” New York Attorney General Letitia James said.
Khalil, who is a U.S. permanent resident and green card holder, was arrested by federal immigration authorities on Saturday; he has since been transferred to a detention center in Louisiana.
The Department of Justice cited numerous examples of alleged misconduct: a Southwest Key Programs employee in El Paso, Texas, who “repeatedly sexually abused” three girls between the ages of 5 and 11, and another worker in Arizona who took a 15-year-old boy to a hotel room, paying him to perform sexual acts.
“Instead of planning a safe route that would have taken the aircraft safely around the dangerous line of thunderstorms, Southwest’s dispatchers and pilots instead choses to fly through the thunderstorm line,” the lawsuit says.
