In a Monday press release, Washington state Attorney General Nick Brown said that the White House has authorized a “chaotic reversal” of longstanding agency policy, “prohibiting state safety net programs from serving all residents, regardless of immigration status.”
“The supposed letter is fake and the Defendants knew it when they chose to deliberately defame President Trump,” the lawsuit alleges.
The Montezuma-Cortez school district is now asking to be named a co-plaintiff in a lawsuit led by District 49 in the Colorado Springs area. Filed against the Colorado High School Activities Association, the complaint seeks a broader blanket ban on transgender participation in school sports.
“U.S. Masters Swimming has also allowed these same delusional biological men to steal records, rankings, and recognition from … women,” the lawsuit alleges. “Indeed, in April of this year, a biological man competed in—and won—five women’s titles in U.S. Masters Swimming’s Spring Nationals in San Antonio, Texas.”
The SIJS classification was authorized by Congress in 1990 as part of the further-reaching Immigration and Nationality Act. Under the SIJS provision, immigrant minors who were abused, abandoned, or neglected in their home countries can apply for protection against deportation and are eligible to receive work permits.
“The Trump administration seems determined to undo the progress we’ve made in the past 15 years to help people get medical treatment when they need it,” said Washington state Attorney General Nick Brown, a co-plaintiff in the lawsuit.
In North Carolina alone, districts are expected to lose more than $165 million, leading to the loss of 1,000 teaching jobs throughout the state.
“Nearly thirty years ago, both Democrats and Republicans in Congress recognized a simple fact: Preparing for disasters, instead of just reacting to them, saves money and lives,” Bonta said.
“Forced reset triggers turn semi-automatic firearms into weapons of war capable of inflicting devastating impacts on Maryland communities,” Brown said in a press release. “The Trump administration’s decision to send these previously seized firearms back to Maryland, where they are illegal, makes our neighbors and children more vulnerable to mass shootings.”
“By cutting funding for these lifesaving youth mental health programs, the Department of Education is abandoning our children when they need us most,” New York AG Letitia James said in a statement.
