3 Ways to Use CBD for Skincare

— October 24, 2019

One such benefit of CBD is its impact on the skin. Many dispensaries have begun selling skin salve to their customers wanting to achieve healthier and young-looking skin.

CBD is a wonderful compound that is totally misunderstood. The misunderstanding comes from the fact that it is derived from hemp, a cousin of the infamous cannabis plant. People think that because it is related to marijuana, it is, therefore, a drug that can cause people to get high. Nothing can be farther from the truth.

CBD has been a popular traditional medicine for hundreds of years. People in the east used it in treating a wide range of ailments, from infection to anxiety. It is only in recent times that the west is slowly changing their minds about CBD, admitting that it has many benefits to the body.

One such benefit is its impact on the skin. Many dispensaries of weed online have begun selling skin salve to their customers wanting to achieve healthier and young-looking skin. Here are the top three reasons why CBD is excellent for the skin.

  1. Use CBD for hydration

If we live in an ideal world, then everyone would prioritize their skin hydration. But we don’t, so we should make the conscious effort to keep our skin from going too dry, especially during the summer when the heat and humidity can wreak havoc to our skin.

CBD contains many different vitamins to keep our skin young and healthy. Vitamin E is one of them. It is a natural emollient, meaning that it’s a skin moisturizer which leaves the skin soft and supple to the touch.

CBD can be used, especially after sun exposure, when the skin is at its most vulnerable. Rubbing a good amount of CBD oil all over will not only feel soothing but will help repair the damage caused by the sun.

  1. Use CBD as an antioxidant

CBD, being an excellent antioxidant, has been well established even before the general public started using the product. If you’re in the dark, an antioxidant is a property in many naturally occurring compounds that help remove the byproducts of metabolism called free radicals.

These free radicals bind to certain structures of the cells and cause damage. When too much of it gets accumulated in the skin, it can cause wrinkles, sagging, and spots to appear.

Using a topically applied CBD can help alleviate some of the adverse effects that free radicals have on our skin. It can help remove those toxins that accumulate deep in our skin and at the same time, keep our skin nourished and looking fresh.

  1. Use CBD as an anti-inflammatory skin salve

Much like its antioxidant properties, CBD is a well-known anti-inflammatory agent. For hundreds and even thousands of years, people have been using the cannabis plant for this purpose. They apply the leaves on wounds, on boils, they also drink it when someone has an upset stomach. Using an anti-inflammatory product on the skin is a good idea because it can help resolve a number of skin issues, one of which is acne.

Also, CBD can minimize the production of sebum, the main culprit in acne. It can also be used to resolve rashes or hives for certain people. Not only that, but it can also ease some of the discomforts one feels when they suffer a nasty bout of these skin conditions.

The Bottom Line

Having said all that, I would think it’s a good idea to include CBD in our daily skincare routine. In fact, numerous celebrities have seen and experienced the merits of CBD on their skin and have begun incorporating it to their routine and sharing it to their fans. This is great news. We are finally breaking the stigma that was once associated with this misunderstood compound.
