“Based on our investigation, UCLA administrators allegedly allowed virulent anti-Semitism to flourish on campus, harming students and staff alike,” said Attorney General Pamela Bondi. “Today’s lawsuit underscores that this Department of Justice stands strong against hate and anti-Semitism in all its vile forms.”
“What I think the federal government needs to be focused on right now, instead of attacking states like New Jersey working to keep people safe, is actually training their ICE agents,” newly-elected New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill said.
Since then, Kennedy has appointed a number of new members to the panel. California alleges that, of the 13 current members, at least nine lack the qualifications and required experience necessary for their positions. A majority have also expressed anti-vaccine views that broadly align with Kennedy’s.
“With this action, EPA flips its mission on its head,” said Hana Vizcarra, an attorney with Earthjustice representing at least six of the groups named as plaintiffs in the lawsuit. “It abandons its core mandate to protect human health and the environment to boost polluting industries and attempts to rewrite the law in order to do so.”
“Halim does not plausibly allege that reasonable consumers are deceived by boneless wings, so he has failed to state a plausible claim for relief,” Tharp wrote.
The Trump administration did not offer an explanation as to why it had changed its position, but instead cited the result of a similar legal challenge heard in Maryland. In that case, the Justice Department agreed to refrain from enforcing the ban.
“These aren’t optional programs—these are investments approved by bipartisan majorities in Congress, and the president doesn’t get to cancel them simply because he disagrees with them,” Bonta said in a press conference. “California won’t allow President Trump and his administration to play politics with our economy, our energy grid, and our jobs.”
The plaintiffs also argue that the arch, which is expected to stand exactly 250 feet tall, would obstruct the line of sight between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery.
Doe says that she denied the accusations, provided written proof, and also submitted documentation of her disabilities, the symptoms of which could include “formal tone, meticulous structure, stylistic consistency, and heightened distress during oral confrontation, [which] can be misinterpreted as artificial or dishonest behavior and are not proof of AI misuse.”
“Again and again, plaintiffs have asked RIDOC officials for permission to obtain native American religious items, engage in Native American ceremonies, and obtain guidance from a Native American elder, but defendants have turned away all of those requests,” the lawsuit alleges.
