“Instead of planning a safe route that would have taken the aircraft safely around the dangerous line of thunderstorms, Southwest’s dispatchers and pilots instead choses to fly through the thunderstorm line,” the lawsuit says.
“While the entire sales practice system for Girl Scout Cookies is built on a foundation of ethics and teaching young girls sustainable business practices, defendants failed to uphold this standard themselves,” the lawsuit alleges.
Brehm also said that, several days after President Donald Trump issued an executive order targeting the agency, DOGE staffers attempted to gain unauthorized access to the Foundation’s computer systems.
In their complaint, the plaintiffs allege that the Department of Education “has no authority to dictate curriculum or educational programs.”
If the lawsuit succeeds, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commissions will no longer be permitted to investigate complaints relating to discrimination on the basis of characteristics such as sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
“My fight to stay on the job was not for me, but rather for the ideal that [the Office of Special Counsel] should be as Congress intended: an independent watchdog and be protected from retaliation,” Dellinger said. “Now I will look to make a difference—as an attorney, a North Carolinian, and an American—in other ways.”
“Prior to her termination, Ms. Comans was an exemplary employee with absolutely no disciplinary history and had received ‘Achieved Excellence’ ratings for every year that she served as an SES,” the lawsuit says.
An attorney for the Mexican government urged the court to consider that the lawsuit is still at an early stage, saying that her clients should get the chance to prove their claims in court.
“The decision to undermine TPS for Haiti and Venezuela is driven by racial bias and has no basis in the realities these communities face,” a Lawyers for Civil Rights attorney said.
“These are local governments, large and small, in very different parts of the state and the nation, that are taking a stand against the federal government’s attempt to unconstitutionally commandeer local resources to assist with immigration enforcement,” said Santa Clary County counsel Tony LoPresti in a statement. “These are jurisdictions that believe in local governments’ right to ensure that their limited resources are used to care for communities rather than tear them apart.”
