On Friday, Paxton formally accused Community Capital Partners—a private group that he claims EPIC founded—of failing to register as a securities dealer and committing securities fraud by misrepresenting the proposed settlement’s location, as well as the eventual compensation of its “leader.”

The lawsuit alleges that, not only did Sierra Canyon School fail to protect Kipnis’s daughter, it also failed to notify the family after a teacher discovered the Kissing Club.
“By intentionally distorting district boundaries along racial lines to preserve a specific number of Hispanic majority districts and two Black influence districts, California violated the Fifteenth Amendment and Voting Rights Act,” the lawsuit says.
“The Temu app is designed to collect sensitive user data without the user’s knowledge or consent, and it’s purposely designed to evade detection of this type of data collection,” the attorney general’s office said.
In a press conference, San Francisco City Attorney David Chiu said that the lawsuit, filed earlier this week in California Superior Court, is intended to hold the companies “accountable for their unfair and deceptive practices, for violating California’s unfair competition law and public nuisance laws.”

In court documents, attorneys for Costco indicated that the company is seeking a “full fund” for all duties paid in accordance with Trump’s use of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.
The filing provides additional evidence from discovery, the evidence-sharing stage of litigation that precedes trial. Meta’s own researchers, for instance, seemed to concede that the company’s policies were bad for young users, with one worker likening Instagram’s algorithmic practices to street-level drug dealing.
