“When companies mislead customers to boost their profits by stealing tips intended for their workers, they are cheating their consumers, their employees, and their competitors who play by the rules,” D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb said.
“The conduct of officials in Chicago and Illinois minimally enforcing—and oftentimes affirmatively thwarting—federal immigration laws over a period of years has resulted in countless criminals being released into Chicago who should have been held for immigration removal from the United States,” the lawsuit alleges.
“President Trump’s actions to dissolve USAID exceed presidential authority and usurp legislative authority conferred upon Congress by the Constitution, in violation of the separation of powers,” the lawsuit alleges.
“In the context of this case, disclosure of OSHA records to the leader of multiple companies with ongoing OSHA investigations presents clear risks both to workers and to the integrity of OSHA’s enforcement efforts,” the lawsuit says.
Labor unions criticized the short, nine-day resignation window provided to federal employees, with the lawsuit calling the original deadline “an arbitrary date […] selected to put maximum pressure on the federal workforce so that they would accept the offer, in many cases contrary to federal agency and federal employee interests.”
“This lawsuit is to ensure that these misguided policies, being forced from one state onto the entire nation, will not lead America into the doldrums of an energy crisis, allowing China, India, and Russia to overtake our energy independence,” said West Virginia Attorney General John B. McCuskey.
“After all, as long as the sensitive data of Plaintiffs’ members remains accessible to Mr. Musk and other members of DOGE, the more opportunity there is for that data to be disclosed to still more unauthorized parties, either accidentally or deliberately,” the lawsuit alleges.
“The very act of compiling lists of persons who worked on matters that upset Donald Trump is retaliatory in nature, intended to intimidate F.B.I. agents and other personnel and to discourage them from reporting any future malfeasance by Donald Trump and his agents,” the lawsuit alleges.
“Real accountability for CBS and Paramount will ensure that the president is compensated for the harm done to him, and will deter the Fake News from further distorting the facts to advance a partisan agenda,” said Trump attorney Edward Paltzik. “President Trump looks forward to seeing this case through to a just conclusion.”
“We will now allow our immigrant neighbors to be terrorized like this,” said Tim Macdonald, the legal director of the ACLU of Colorado. “The landlord’s threats violate Colorado state law, which prevents landlords from trying to take advantage of the perceived immigration status of their tenants and coercing them into refraining from exercising their rights.”
