Texas A.G. Paxton Launches Investigation into El Paso-based Immigrant Group
The investigation is apparently predicated on the attorney general’s belief that Las Americas is conducting “fraudulent and deceptive legal representations and services.”

“As Election Day approaches, it is critical that Alabama redress voter confusion resulting from its list maintenance mailings sent in violation of federal law,” the Justice Department said in a statement. “Officials across the country should take heed of the National Voter Registration Act’s clear and unequivocal restrictions on systematic list maintenance efforts that fall within 90 days of an election.”
“However, shortly after [Matus] obtained possession, Defendant Belanski wrapped his legs around Max’s arm and used his hands to wrangle the ball out of Max’s hand, stealing the ball for himself,” the lawsuit alleges. “This interaction between Max and Defendant Belanski was captured on video by multiple fans who were at the game.”

“Even though city policymakers have long known of the unconstitutional conditions at Rikers and [the] risk of rape and sexual abuse of female detainees—from personal observations, prior lawsuits, public reports, governmental investigations, and the City’s own internal reports—City policymakers have utterly failed to take the necessary steps to remedy the conditions at Rikers,” the lawsuit alleges.
“It’s all about public safety,” said Nassau County legislator Mazi Pilip, the bill’s conservative sponsor. “If people want to rally, that’s great. However, this idea that nobody is going to recognize my face, and I’m going to break the law and hurt people—that’s not going to be acceptable.”
“It was their gross negligence, including a ship—a 900-plus-ton vessel—to sea that was not seaworthy,” state Attorney General Anthony Brown said. “So, it’s no surprise that the basic claims and the facts—supporting claims are going to be the same, because we all recognize that it was Grace Ocean and Synergy Maritime that failed all of us.”
“Today’s lawsuit,” Bonta said, “shows the fullest picture to date of ExxonMobil’s decades-long deception, and we are asking the court to hold ExxonMobil fully accountable for its role in actively creating and exacerbating the plastics pollution crisis through its campaign of deception,” California Attorney General Rob Bonta said.
“NBC must be held accountable for its abuse of power and betrayal of trust,” attorneys wrote in their initial claim. “Viewers and readers across the country turn to the media for the information they need to make decisions about their health and well-being.”
