A warning to Florida soup lover’s: Campbell’s Soup recently issued a recall of their popular chicken soup throughout the state. In total, about 4,185 pounds of the company’s 18.6-ounce cans labeled as “Campbell’s Homestyle Healthy Request Chicken with Whole Grain Pasta” have been recalled.

Why was the recall issued in the first place? Well unlike many of the recalls of late that pertain to contamination of some sort, such as the recent potato chip recalls over salmonella concerns, this Campell’s soup recall has been issued because the wrong soup is in the can. That’s right. Instead of a delicious serving of chicken and whole grain pasta, the recalled cans of soup are filled with Campbell’s Homestyle Healthy Request Italian-Style Wedding Spinach & Meatballs in Chicken Broth.

The problem was first brought to the company’s attention after consumer complaints began pouring in, alerting Campbell’s to the problem. Additionally, there’s also a problem with the labels. Apparently, Campbell’s Homestyle Healthy Request Chicken with Whole Grain Pasta contains milk, but it’s not noted on the label, which can be a problem for those with milk allergies.

But how can consumers tells if they have one of the recalled cans of soup? It’s simple. Many of the recalled cans have a “best by date of Feb. 13, 2019,” and the “bottom of the cans have establishment code “EST. 4R.”” According to Campbell’s, consumers who have one of the recalled cans should either throw it away or return it. All questions or concerns should be directed to Campbell’s at 866-400-0965.
