Lawsuit Filed Over Drowning Death In Demi Moore’s Pool

— February 28, 2017

The death of a child is every parent’s worst nightmare, especially when it could have been avoided. This is the situation that Jorge and Maria Valle faced a year and a half ago when they learned that their 21-year-old son, Edenilson Steven Valle, drowned in actress Demi Moore’s swimming pool. How could his death have been avoided? Well, according to a lawsuit filed by the Valle family, their son “had said he could not swim, making it unlikely he voluntarily entered the deep end of the pool.” As a result, they’re suing the “Tree House Trust that owns the Beverly Hills home, and Bessy Wong and Lenny Hernandez” who hosted the party back on July 19, 2015, where Valle drowned.

Well, according to a lawsuit filed by the Valle family, their son “had said he could not swim, making it unlikely he voluntarily entered the deep end of the pool.” As a result, they’re suing the “Tree House Trust that owns the Beverly Hills home, and Bessy Wong and Lenny Hernandez” who hosted the party back on July 19, 2015, where the drowning death occurred.

Despite authorities deeming the drowning an accident, the lawsuit filed by the victim’s parents claims “Hernandez hosted a party with alcohol, and there were abundant dangerous conditions at the premises, including the 10-foot-deep pool, for which Valle received no warning.” According to the lawsuit, Lenny Hernandez, the house manager, “knew there was drinking that night,” and was actually serving alcohol “at a party which was unsafe to host.”

The lawsuit claims the pool was especially dangerous because there “were no depth markers on the pool, likely no functioning lights, and numerous decorative rocks that someone could trip on.” According to the Valle family, this entire incident could have been avoided if the area where the party took place hadn’t had so many risky features, like the pool, decorative rocks, and alcohol. It was an accident ready to happen. Someone was going to get hurt that night, which is why the Valles are seeking “unspecified damages on wrongful-death and negligence allegations.” Someone dropped the ball the night of the party, and unfortunately, it resulted in the loss of a vibrant life.

At the moment, Hernandez hasn’t been available for a comment, but the owner of the home where the accident occurred, actress Demi Moore, released the following statement in regard to the tragic accident, saying she was in “absolute shock”:

“I was out of the country traveling to meet my daughters for a birthday celebration when I got the devastating news. The loss of a child is an unthinkable tragedy and my heart goes out to this young man’s family and friends.”
