DC Attorney General Sues to Stop National Guard Deployment

The lawsuit asks the court to find that the new maps were “enacted with an impermissible and controlling discriminatory purpose on the basis of race” and to issue a ruling prohibiting Texas from using the updated boundaries.

Florida State Education Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas also said that he’s “committed to holding publishers accountable,” emphasizing that some of the textbooks have contained information on topics such as critical race theory, intersectionality, and white privilege.
“There is no greater risk to public safety in a large, professional police force like MPD than to not know who is in command,” the lawsuit states.
“DOE’s funding cap disrupts the very programs helping our communities with energy costs and the transition to clean power,” California Attorney General Rob Bonta said in a statement.
The two lawsuits against “Alligator Alcatraz” touch on two different sides of the facility’s potential effects: one of the claims takes issue with the prison’s environmental impact, while the other raises concerns over inmates’ rights.
“Investigating the fraud case Attorney General James won against President Trump and his businesses has to be the most blatant and desperate example of this administration’s carrying out the president’s political retribution campaign,” an attorney for AG James said.
“Texas Republicans have never been more desperate,” Texas state Rep. John Bucy III said in a statement. “First they put warrants out for our arrest, then they told their supporters to ‘hunt us down,’ and now they’re trying to remove me from elected office.”
“The tone and content of Newsom’s complaint and his conduct underscore that the purpose of this lawsuit is to create a press spectacle and harass Fox News, not to remedy any legitimate reputational harm,” attorneys for Fox wrote in the filing.
