Baby gates are common in households across the country because they keep babies and small children safe from stairs or other areas that are unsafe. Unfortunately, however, a popular baby gate has just been recalled “due to entrapment and strangulation hazards to young children.”
Parents can never be too careful with their children, which is why it’s important to always be up to date on any recalls involving safety products like car seats, high chairs, strollers, and even baby gates. Unfortunately, however, a popular baby gate has just been recalled “due to entrapment and strangulation hazards to young children.”
So far, more than 25,000 Madison Mill 23 and 25 foldaway expandable safety gates have been recalled because it’s been discovered that a “young child’s neck can fit into the “V” shaped opening along the top edge of the gate, posing entrapment and strangulation hazards.” Additionally, reports have found that small children “can also pass under the gate allowing access to restricted areas, such as stairs.” Understandably this news is alarming for parents, which is why the recall was issued.
But where were the safety gates sold? Can families get a refund for the common baby gate? For starters, the recalled baby gates were sold nationwide at numerous “independent hardware stores.” In terms of refunds, parents can contact “contact Madison Mill for instructions on receiving a full refund.”
