The Boppy Company Recalls 14,000 Head and Neck Support Accessories

— July 26, 2019

The Boppy Company is recalling thousands of infant head and neck support products over suffocation hazard concerns.

If you’re a parent with a Boppy pillow or other Boppy products in your home, you may be interested in a recent recall issued by The Boppy Company. Earlier this week, The Boppy Company recalled 14,000 infant head and neck support accessories for boppy pillows. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recall was issued over concerns the accessories may pose a suffocation hazard. The agency said, “[T]he head support area can be overstuffed and cause the infant’s head to be tilted too far forward.”

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. However, there have been a few reports of “babies’ heads being pushed forward chin to chest by the product,” according to the CPSC. Because of this, the products have been deemed unsafe for little ones.

Unsure what the affected products are? For starters, recalled infant head and neck support accessories are designed to be used in infant bouncers, swings, and strollers. According to the notice, the recall includes The Boppy Company’s Head and Neck support in two styles: Ebony Floral and Heathered Gray with model numbers 4150114 and 4150117. The model numbers are printed on a fabric label on the back of the product.

Before the recall, the products were sold at Target, Amazon, Buy Buy Baby and other retailers online and nationwide between March 2019 and May 2019. For now, parents with any of the recalled products should stop using them and return them for a refund by calling The Boppy Company at 888-772-6779 or by email at info@boppy.com.
