According to the two companies, the elevated levels of vitamin D are the result of a formulation error. Both companies said “they became aware of the elevated levels of vitamin D after receiving complaints from three owners that their pets had suffered vitamin D toxicity.” For dogs, vitamin D toxicity often results in unpleasant symptoms such as vomiting, increased urination, loss of appetite, weight loss, increased thirst, and more.

If you have any of the recalled products in your home, either throw it away or return into the place of purchase for a full refund.
