Granola Recalled Due to Potential Plastic, Glass Contamination

Purely Elizabeth is recalling certain types of granola that may be contaminated with glass, rocks, and other foreign materials.

If you’re thinking about tossing a box of granola into your car for your Memorial Day cookout, you may want to take a peek at the brand. Earlier this week, Purely Elizabeth recalled certain boxes of gluten-free granola over concerns it may contain glass, rocks, and other foreign matter. The company learned of the issue after receiving a complaint from a customer, but no injuries or illnesses have been reported regarding the matter.

According to the notice, the specific products included in the recall are as follow:

  • 16-ounce packages of Coconut Cashew Grain-Free Granola with the UPC Code 8551400002946 and best by dates of Nov. 30, 2019, and Dec. 3, 2019
  • 8-ounce packages of Coconut Cashew Grain-Free Granola with the UPC Code 855140002700 and best by date of Oct. 19, 2019
  • 8-ounce Banana Nut Butter Grain-Free Granola with the UPC Code 855140002724 with best by dates of Oct. 17, 2019, and Dec. 12, 2019
  • Pumpkin Spice w/Ashwagandha Superfood Grain-Free Granola with the UPC Code 810589030158 and best by date of Dec. 7, 2019
