“They’ve had a hard slog,” an attorney for the two plaintiffs said. “They would really like to get some sense that they’ve been heard and that the injustices they’ve suffered are recognized.”
“Ms. Comey’s termination – without case, without advance notice, and without any opportunity to contest it – was unlawful and unconstitutional,” Comey’s lawsuit alleges. “In truth, there is no legitimate explanation. Rather, Defendants fired Ms. Comey solely or substantially because her father is former FBI Director James B. Comey, or because of her perceived political affiliation and beliefs, or both.”
In a typically bizarre post to social media, the president downplayed his broad unpopularity, suggesting that outlets critical of his policies are “lying” about his troubled past.
Attorneys for the plaintiff, identified in court documents as Rebecca Dallas, accuse the owners of Roblox and Discord of “recklessly and deceptively operating their business in a way that led to the sexual exploitation and suicide” of the plaintiff’s 15-year-old son, Ethan Dallas.
The lawsuit provides a specific example of Sterling’s alleged impropriety: in 2021, for instance, Sterling told Brunner that she couldn’t meet him on a specific day because she didn’t feel well, only to post a picture to social media showing her in the company of another man, co-defendant Shanta Cotright.
“Unbeknownst to Ohtani and his agent Nez Balelo, plaintiffs exploited Ohtani’s name and photograph to drum up traffic to a website that marketed plaintiffs’ own side project development,” wrote Ohtani and Balelo’s attorneys. “They engaged in this self-dealing without authorization, and without paying Ohtani for that use, in a selfish and wrongful effort to take advantage of their proximity to the most famous baseball player in the world.”
“Uber denies service to hundreds, and potentially even thousands, of individuals with disabilities who travel with service animals, who use wheelchairs or other mobility devices, or whose appearance or involuntary behavior because of their disabilities may offend, annoy, or inconvenience drivers,” the lawsuit claims.
One of the five plaintiffs, described as a bisexual man from the nearby Western African country of The Gambia, was recently deported to his home country—a country where same-sex relationships can lead to criminal charges.
“Oregon’s sanctuary law was amended in 2021 (HB 3625) with new and internally contradictory provisions that created the current legal uncertainty,” a Marion County, Oregon, official said in a statement.
But, in a brief update and press release, the attorney general’s office conceded that, upon conclusion of its investigation into Granados, it found that the doctor had not, in fact, violated any relevant provision of state law. Granados himself claims that he never even heard from Paxton’s office until being served the lawsuit.
