Are you a cat owner? If so, you may be interested in a recent recall. Earlier this week, Nestlé Purina PetCare Company decided to voluntarily recall certain cans of Muse wet cat food Natural Chicken Recipe in Gravy in three-ounce cans. Why? Well, there is a concern the products may contain “rubber pieces that are translucent yellow with a blue backing,” posing a choking hazard for cats.

In a statement following the recall announcement, the company said,

“We’re pet owners and pet lovers, and our number one commitment is the health and well-being of pets. We only want products that meet our high-quality standards in your pet’s bowl.”

The recall was issued after the pet food manufacturer received a handful of reports from customers. If you’re wondering whether you have any of the recalled cans of cat food in your home, take look at the UPC code number, production code, and Best-By date. According to the notice, the recalled cat food has a UPC code of 38100 17199, a Best-By date of APR2020, and a production code of 80941162.

Fortunately, there have been no reports of illnesses or injuries related to the recall so far. For now, if you have the recalled product in your home, either throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a refund. If you have additional questions or concerns about the recall, give Purina a call at 1-800-982-3885.
