One of the five plaintiffs, described as a bisexual man from the nearby Western African country of The Gambia, was recently deported to his home country—a country where same-sex relationships can lead to criminal charges.
“Oregon’s sanctuary law was amended in 2021 (HB 3625) with new and internally contradictory provisions that created the current legal uncertainty,” a Marion County, Oregon, official said in a statement.
“The Trump Administration continues to pull the rug out from under California families just trying to get by, but we’re fighting back,” California Attorney General Rob Bonta said. “We’re grateful that a district court has put a stop to this cruel new directive while our litigation continues.”
But, in a brief update and press release, the attorney general’s office conceded that, upon conclusion of its investigation into Granados, it found that the doctor had not, in fact, violated any relevant provision of state law. Granados himself claims that he never even heard from Paxton’s office until being served the lawsuit.
“[FBI Director Kash Patel] explained he had to fire the people his superiors told him to fire, because his ability to keep his own job depended on the removal of the agents who worked on cases involving the President,” the lawsuit alleges. “
In court documents, James claims that, in 2020, the Brimelow family used about $1.4 million of VDARE’s charitable funds to purchase a “medieval-style castle” in West Virginia.
The lawsuit lays out a litany of charges, ranging from allegations of general overcrowding to mass “infestations of rats and roaches, and no clean water for drinking or bathing.”
“I am afraid that if I continue my lawsuit, I will personally be subjected to harassment that will negatively impact my mental health, my safety, and my ability to graduate as soon as possible,” plaintiff Lindsay Hecox wrote in a legal filing.
Cavas claims that Chewy’s “deceptive trade practices” result in the overcharging of “its Autoship customers [with] more sales tax than is due on goods which are discounted” through the service.
The lawsuit alleges that the school failed to “perform an investigation or take meaningful disciplinary action against the players or coaches,” even after being presented with evidence corroborating the family’s claims.
