Perdue Foods Ready-to-Eat Chicken Recalled Over Findings of Bone Chunks

— June 6, 2019

After discovering bone material in some of its chicken, Perdue Foods issued a recall of 32,000 pounds of ready-to-eat breaded chicken products.

If you’re a fan of Perdue breaded chicken products, listen up. Earlier this week, Perdue Foods recalled close to 32,000 pounds of ready-to-eat breaded chicken products over concerns they may be contaminated with extraneous materials, including bone materials. The affected products were produced on March 21 and were shipped to retailers nationwide.

Fortunately, there have been no reports of consumers experiencing adverse reactions or falling ill from consuming the products. Despite that, the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service and Perdue Foods are urging consumers to check their refrigerators and freezers. Anyone with any of the recalled chicken should either throw it away or return it for a refund.

What are the exact products included in the recall, though? Well, according to the notice, the recall includes the following products:

  • 11.2-ounce plastic trays containing “PERDUE Simply Smart ORGANICS BREADED CHICKEN BREAST TENDERS – GLUTEN FREE” with a “USE BY MAY 20 2019” and UPC bar code of 072745-001437 on the label.
