Former CNN Employees File Another Racial Discrimination Lawsuit Against Network

With all the news surrounding Fox News and the many allegations of discrimination against the network, some seem to be forgetting that CNN is also waist deep in discrimination allegations as well. In fact, according to the New York Business Journal, “CNN faces a class action lawsuit alleging racial discrimination by about 175 former and current employees,” similar to allegations filed against Fox News and The New York Times.

Osprey Recalls Nearly 88,000 Child Carriers

Baby and child carriers are popular among parents, so it’s unfortunate that a popular brand is recalling thousands of child carriers. Recently, Osprey Child Safety Products and Osprey Packs of Cortez, Colo. decided to recall nearly 88,000 of their Poco child carriers currently being sold in the U.S. and Canada. What happened to prompt the recall? Well, apparently the carriers have been deemed unsafe because “a child seated in the carrier can slip through the leg openings, posing a fall hazard to children.”

Traumatic Brain Injury Case Results In $33.8M Verdict

A tragedy occurred at the federally funded Jessie Trice Community Health Center when baby Earl Reese-Thornton was born with a severe brain injury after Dr. Atogho failed to offer and perform a C-section and “continued the administration of the contraindicated delivery drug Pitocin.” Fortunately, the law firm, Mallard & Sharp, P.A., that represented the heartbroken parents, won a “$33.8 million verdict on behalf of a brain damaged baby,” and the Court found that “Dr. Atogho’s failure to offer and perform a C-section was gross negligence and caused the brain injury that resulted in baby Earl Reese-Thornton requiring 24-hour care for the remainder of his life.”

Foster Farms Recalls Frozen Chicken Patties

Recall Alert! The frozen chicken in your freezer might contain plastic. That’s why Foster Farms has issued a massive recall of nearly “131,880 pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat breaded chicken patty products” because they might “be contaminated with foreign materials, specifically plastic,” according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

Are There Golf Balls In Your Wegmans Hashbrowns?

Breakfast lovers beware, another popular brand of hash browns has been recalled. Why? Well, apparently certain bags of Wegmans branded frozen hash brown products might contain pieces of golf balls. The recall itself was issued by McCain Foods, and according to an FDA press release, the golf balls “may have been inadvertently harvested with potatoes used to make the product.”

Rhode Island State Officials Propose Settlement Over Discrimination Suit

Another instance of discrimination has resulted in a lawsuit, one that, fortunately, appears close to being resolved. Back in 2014, the U.S. Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against Rhode Island’s Department of Corrections “over a discriminatory hiring practices lawsuit.” Now Rhode Island state officials are proposing a settlement.

Medical Malpractice Lawsuit Filed in Flesh Eating Bacteria Case

A medical malpractice lawsuit has been filed against a handful of emergency physicians and medical groups who tended to an Albany man at Holzer Clinic of Athens back on April 15, 2016. The man, Michael R. Gillen, 43, was later diagnosed with “necrotizing fasciitis, a rare “flesh-eating” bacterial infection that destroys soft tissue under the skin,” and tragically passed away on April 20, 2016, at the Ohio State University Medical Center where he had been diagnosed with the disease.

Campbell’s Recalls 4,200 Pounds of Popular Chicken Soup

A warning to Florida soup lover’s: Campbell’s Soup recently issued a recall of their popular chicken soup throughout the state. In total, about 4,185 pounds of the company’s 18.6-ounce cans labeled as “Campbell’s Homestyle Healthy Request Chicken with Whole Grain Pasta” have been recalled.

Frito-Lay Issues Voluntary Recall Amid Salmonella Concerns

Salmonella is back in the news, this time resulting in a voluntary recall of some Frito-Lay chip varieties. Why the recall? Well, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has reported that there is a “potential presence of salmonella in the seasoning,” and though there have been no reported illnesses in relation to the recall as of yet, it’s best for consumers to err on the side of caution.
