Earlier this week Swift Beef Co., “doing business as JBS USA Food Company, a Cactus, Texas establishment,” decided to recall an estimated 4,702 pounds of its beef stew product over concerns that it might be “contaminated with foreign matter, specifically plastic and metal.”

Last week, Claire’s Accessories, a retail store “known for selling accessories and cosmetics targeted to young girls and teenagers, recalled some of its makeup over asbestos concerns.”
Last week, Aldi and Kroger announced a recall of their Michigan grown apples, and now Meijer has joined in. Just recently, Meijer announced a voluntary recall “involving Michigan grown apples that may be tainted with listeria.” According to the FDA, the retailer’s recall only impacts “select Meijer brand packaged products that contain sliced apples.”

Recently, two popular “supermarket chains launched recalls of some of the more popular varieties of apples due to Listeria contamination fears in some states.” The stores in question include Aldi and Kroger.
For those who don’t know, Springfield Smoked Fish recalled some of it’s smoked fish products not too long ago. However, the company recently announced that it was expanding that recall due to “Listeria concerns from two New England states to nationwide.” According to the recall notice, the affected products, “19 of which were sold under the Springfield Smoked Fish or Rachael’s Springfield Smoked Fish brand names, were sold at retail and wholesale stores in New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Colorado, Ohio and Pennsylvania and nationwide via online outlets.”

Yesterday, Piller’s Fine Foods of Waterloo, Canada issued a recall of its ready-to-eat speck prosciutto and salami items over concerns that they may contain salmonella. The recall was announced by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service,.
An important recall has been issued that parents should be aware of. The company “Dream on Me recently recalled 23,400 crib and toddler mattresses sold in 2016 because they fail to meet federal flammability standards.” This is particularly dangerous because in failing to meet the flammability standards, the mattresses actually pose a risk of fire, according to the Consumer Product Commission (CPSC).
A major recall has been issued by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that parents may be interested in, especially those with babies. The recent recall was issued earlier this week on Monday, and affects gallons of “Kroger’s Comforts For Baby purified water with added fluoride…with a sell-by date between 4/26/2018 and 10/10/2018.” Why was the recall issued, though?
