Mo’s Seafood Agrees to $1M Settlement, Ending Dispute with Former Employees Over Pay Issues

Mo’s Fisherman Exchange Inc., the company that owns and operates Mo’s Seafood restaurants recently agreed to pay $1 million to settle a dispute with 34 former workers that claimed in a lawsuit that the restaurant chain underpaid them. However, despite the settlement, the company “did not admit to liability under the terms of the settlement of the suit.”





Harvard University Admissions Lawsuit Moves to Trial

A lawsuit accusing Harvard University of discriminating against Asian-American applicants in admissions moved to trial on Monday. Students for Fair Admissions have alleged that Harvard is biased against its Asian-American applicants, supposedly holding them to higher standards than students of other races. JPMorgan Chase Settles Racial Discrimination Suit for $24M

Last week, JPMorgan Chase & Co. agreed to pay $19.5 million to settle a class action racial discrimination lawsuit with more than “200 current and former black financial advisers and their attorneys.” Additionally, the bank agreed to spend $4.5 million to “in-house development programs over the next three years to recruit advisers and help them be successful in those positions.”
