CPSC, Ameriwood Home Recalls 1.6M Chests Due to Entrapment Hazards

Mainstays is a popular furniture brand, and many Americans have some sort of furniture piece from the brand in their homes. Unfortunately, a voluntary recall has just been issued for the four-drawer chests from Ameriwood Home amid concerns “about their stability and entrapment hazards.” According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the chests “are unstable if not anchored to the wall, posing serious tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in death or injuries to children.”

$25M Wrongful Death Lawsuit Filed in Adrian Jones Murder Case

After suffering a life filled with abuse at the hands of people who were supposed to love and care for him, 7-year-old Adrian Jones was brutally murdered. To hide the crime, his body was fed to pigs. Now the boy’s biological mother and her family have filed a $25 million lawsuit against the parties they claim failed to protect the child, including “social workers, therapists, agencies, and hospitals” that the lawsuit called “disinterested bystanders.”

Detective Who Arrested Utah Nurse Loses Paramedic Job

New developments have transpired regarding the detective that aggressively arrested Salt Lake City nurse, Alex Wubbels, for following the law and protecting her unconscious patient. For those who don’t know, after a video went viral showing Detective Jeff Payne aggressively arresting and dragging Wubbles from a hospital, Payne was “put on paid leave by the Salt Lake City Police Department.” Now, according to the Associated Press, Payne has “been fired from his part-time job as a paramedic” with Gold Cross Ambulance. Additionally, the hospital staff has “banned law enforcement officials from interacting directly with its nurses.”

Wrongful Death Lawsuit Filed in Fatal Sunnyvale Construction Site Accident

An accident at a Sunnyvale construction site has prompted a wrongful death lawsuit against “Level 10 Construction, two subcontractors, and the property owner” in charge of overseeing the site where a construction worker fell to his death. The lawsuit itself was filed by the man’s wife, Irma Vargas, in Santa Clara County Superior Court, and is seeking damages for “emotional distress, wrongful death, negligent survival and premises liability from Level 10 Construction, Webcor Builders, Alamillo Rebar Inc. and Central Wolfe LLC.”
